Child leadership programme
Here at Charter, we want our pupils to be fully involved in their school. This involves the children taking on roles of responsibility and having a say on how we do things.
Each year group has a specific responsibility as follows:
Year 1: Assembly door monitors
Year 2: Eco-Warriors
Year 3: Ping’s Pals (Play leaders)
Year 4: Librarians
Year 5: Charity ambassadors
Year 6: Subject ambassadors
There are 2 nominated head teacher ambassadors who support the head teacher and 2 nominated deputy head teacher ambassadors who support the deputy head by:
- Showing visitors around school
- Hosting lunch for invited guests
- Being part of the interview process when appointing new staff
- Being involved in parents evening workshops or events
- Being involved in celebration assemblies
All children in year 6 are subject ambassadors and support the Subject Lead teacher with pupil voice, sharing ideas and running subject assemblies.
The school council group are led and run by the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher Ambassadors. Children from each year group, share ideas and gain other children’s opinions on different topics such as school lunches and OPAL.
